Ellisburg vs St. Christopher

The 2020 college football season has been a largely uncertain topic this year, but U of E showed absolute certainty in how good it looked while beating St. Christopher 62-0 in Week 1. The victory was to be expected for the Stampede program, as St. Christopher is an FCS opponent.

St. Christopher certantly looked like a team that was trying to prepare for a football season in the middle of a pandemic.

Ellisburg might be a real problem. It’s no secret that coach Will has done an excellent job in Ellisburg, but this was absolutely peak Ellisburg. The Stampedes offense ran 82 plays, 65 of them runs at an effective 5.8 yards per attempt. Every drive was purposeful. They were 17-of-17 on third-down attempts and converted their only fourth-down attempt.

Again, I wonder how much of this is just St. Christopher doing its best in a pandemic and trying to have fun while doing so. The end result was Ellisburg crushing an FCS team beyond belief.
